Title: Love Again
MPA Rating: PG-13
Director: Jim Strouse
Starring: Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan, Céline Dion
Runtime: 1 hr 44 mins

What It Is: Illustrator Mira Ray (Chopra Jonas) is absolutely in love with her boyfriend John (Arinzé Kene). When he dies from a car accident caused by a drunk driver she is devastated. Music critic Rob Burns (Heughan) is at a loss after HIS girlfriend leaves him and on top of that now his work is making him use a second phone. That phones number just so happens to be that of Mira’s now deceased boyfriend John. When Mira begins telling that phone her inner most thoughts to his old phone Rob sees them and begins falling for whoever this person is.

What We Think: Have you ever seen a romantic comedy? Then you’ve seen this movie. The intended couple have a meet cute, in this case it’s at the theater for an opera that’s important to Mira. The couple have some sort of challenge, here it’s the obvious deceptive nature of the entire silly situation. The couple must deal with some manner of hardship between them…happy ending rinse repeat. If this is a spoiler to you I am so sorry but like literally what the hell is wrong with you. You all know that I am very much a defender of these kind of films. The utter laziness of this film was unforgivable. Inserting Céline Dion for brownie points was just not the move. There are moments here that feel like there could be something but it is too unfocused to really work out in the long run.

Our Grade: C-, So very ordinary. If even I couldn’t come up with some sort of silver lining then your Romantic Comedy doesn’t have one. The acting is atrocious and with this film it was unforgivably bad. I don’t see what anyone could’ve seen in something like this. It’s a rare RomCom skip for me.
