Title: Olympic Dreams
MPAA Rating: PG-13
Director: Jeremy Teicher
Starring: Nick Kroll, Alexi Pappas, Gus Kenworthy
Runtime: 1 hr 25 mins

What It Is: Ezra (Kroll) is the resident dentist for the Olympic Village at the Winter Olympics. When he meets cross-country skier Penelope (Pappas) the two hit it off and develop a friendship. Ezra is a broken man going through something and Penelope is a lonely woman seeking any sort of connection with other people. Perhaps the two can be each other’s medicine? Perhaps they won’t be able to handle being solely friends? Maybe they’re ready to be even more then friends.

What We Think: Man Kroll and Pappas have a chemistry that’s off the charts immeasurable. Honestly, it’s such a surprise that Kroll is able to pull off a role like this. Alexi Pappas has proven she is a great actress before with Tracktown. Similar to that we have an athlete struggling with being an athlete. Isolated, lonely and just wanting to connect. She’s a gem. This is the only time a film has ever been shot INSIDE the official Olympic village. What a setting it was! This is such a wonderfully shot film. Massive credit is due to Teicher in the chair as he also served as the cinematographer.

Our Grade: A-, When you look at this film there’s so much to like here. It’s beautifully shot, the chemistry between the leads in dynamic and it all tends to come together rather nicely. I am, and you all know this, a sucker for RomComs. This is a fantastic example of a romantic comedy with a heart at its core that’s just fantastic. If you get a chance to take this wonderful film do so. It isn’t as if any of us have a lot more we reallt CAN do at the moment.
