What It Is: Pia (Ashley) is a young photographer living in the U.K. Her photography studio isn’t exactly paying the bills—hers, its own, or anyone else’s, for that matter.

Her sister, Sonal (Anoushka Chadha), on the other hand, is thriving. She’s about to marry the man of her dreams in a lavish, over-the-top wedding.

When one of Pia’s old flames returns for the big event, it turns her world upside down. As if that weren’t enough, her entire family is busy trying to set her up on dates, determined to sort out her love life for her.

What We Think: It’s a pretty straightforward romantic comedy—standard fare, really.

I did enjoy myself while watching it. Even though I could see the plot unfolding a mile away, it was still an enjoyable little film.

Simone Ashley was very charming, and a charismatic lead can go a long way in a romantic comedy. She’s really what keeps you invested—you want to see her get the guy, whichever guy that ends up being (even if it’s pretty obvious which one it should be).

Mohan doesn’t do anything particularly spectacular, and visually, the film is perfectly fine.

If rom-coms are your thing, this one will probably do the trick. If not—well, what are you even doing here?

That said, a good rom-com can sometimes cure what ails you. A mid-tier one, like this, might just amplify that familiar sense of loneliness we all deal with from time to time.

But if you’re cool with that, this is a somewhat charming little film. Whether it works for you might hinge entirely on that perspective.
