What It Is: When two roommates begin to fight they are sent to see Dr. Schilling (Sarah Sherman). She tells them of a story from her time at the college. When roommates Devon (Sandler) and Celeste (East) began to fight one another after initially getting along rather swimmingly. Devon never really had any true friends and Celeste has never really had a reliable family. Because of this the two sort of formed a kinship that saw each one fill the void left by friends and family. Until true colors and intentions begin to arise.

What We Think: I have a lot to say about Chandler Lavack and her talent. I won’t say a ton here and I’m going to save it for my review of her other film that dropped in 2026. What I’ll say about this film is it might be one of the better Happy Madison productions that have hit the scene in the last decade and a half. This film is very funny even if it is one that doesn’t let the director shine all that much. Chloe East grew on me as she grew into her character here. It was really nice to see two actors in Nick Kroll and Natasha Lyonne who are normally odd, mean-spirited or quirky characters just be parents.

Our Grade: C-, It’s really not that great but it does have a few solid jokes that hit well enough to not bring this in as a total failure. A true achievement for Happy Madison as a production company on the whole. It’s an easy watch and it being available on Netflix makes this open to everyone. It has that mass appeal that so many of these comedies have and it’ll find the audience that finds this hysterical. It just won’t be here, nor with me. It’s okay just not great. Maybe give it some time and the best part is if you don’t like it you can turn it off. Which I almost did two or three times.
