Title: Cotton Candy Bubble Gum
MPA Rating: Not Rated
Director: J Pinder
Starring: Nick Darnell, Morgan Jay, JadaPaige
Runtime: 1 hr 28 mins

What It Is: Carter (Darnell) and Angel (Jay) are just two dudes hanging out, living life and trying to make something out of it. Carter won’t grow up and Angel refuses to recognize he is an adult. When the two run afoul of rapper Capital Gainz (R. Marcus Taylor) they are running and driving and fighting their way through Los Angeles to escape him, and the consequences of their actions. Meanwhile Brooklyn (JadaPaige), a model with a stage mother, has had an incident which Carter must address. All roads converging for a wacky day in LA.

What We Think: This is a very funny film. It wasn’t something I initially had on my radar. When it came across my desk it had the clear vibe of One of Them Days. A trip across Los Angeles as a result of crazy consequences by our characters. Nick Darnell is channeling his inner Chris Tucker here. I had the chance to ask him about that and it was a purposeful choice. I loved the humor here and found the ultimate message within it something that every lost twentysomething in Los Angeles could certainly use.

Our Grade: C+, This is available to watch on demand now and I can say with certainty there’s something in it for a majority of audiences. I always love these tiny films that don’t have a built in audience. I always hope that they find one. Check this one out because it is absolutely worth your time. It is very funny and when it comes to comedy that’s really all that matters. Is it funny and are the jokes and gags more than low hanging fruit? No, they are not! In fact some of the moments here are genuinely hilarious. Check it out! Check out my interview with Nick Darnell and JadaPaige.
